My Review:This was another sweet little holiday read. This story was about high school sweethearts that had a horrible heartbreaking breakup after a betrayal, which sent Riley running off to Nashville and Ethan running into another girl's arms. On the surface, things have worked out for both of them. Riley is a huge country star and Ethan has a beautiful little girl in Zoey that he adores, but neither one of these two have forgotten or gotten over their passion and love for each other, although it's been 10 years since they saw each other.
I loved the premise of this story and the angst and emotion that is at the base of it. I felt the pain all the way to the core of Ethan's character, but had a harder time connecting with Riley. I think that was probably more of a personal thing with me though, rather than any kind of writing flaw in the book. She just wasn't a character that I connected with. I loved the Kent aspect of it, especially at Christmastime. Ethan is a part of this big, loving family.
Riley, on the other hand, grew up without any family. When she ran away from it all ten years ago, she not only lost the love of her life, but she also lost the stability from the Kent family. So why did I feel more empathy for Ethan than I did for Riley while reading this book?? I am telling you, it makes no sense. Part of it may be because she is so mature about it and the fact that she just wants to be past it, whereas Ethan still has regrets.
Despite my VERY confused emotions about this book, the one thing that I am sure of is that I definitely enjoyed it. I loved getting to know these characters and giggled about the precocious little Zoey...a lot. It's a sweet book and I am very glad that I read it.

All She Wants For Christmas The Kent Brothers Trilogy Book 1 edition by Jaci Burton Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
Jack Burton did a fantastic job of restoring the Christmas spirit in my heart! What a great story! Ethan and Zoey would make a beautiful gift for all women! I couldn't put it down!
This is such a great book, that I have gone back and read this author's entire set again.. Hot, Hot, Hot, love scenes plus great characters and wonderful, sweet romance, make this book a "must-have"!!!! I didn't want to set it down! Lol
Riley left town and never looked back but now she's forced to return for the sake of a tv special. Ethan was the guy she left behind after he broke her heart. There was more to the story but their lives still seem headed in different directions. This was a very loving story and a great holiday romance. Sometimes you have to figure how how to get what you need so you can have it ALL.
I loved the story the heartache, and the love. The sweet ending of love coming back together after 10 years of hurt and loss, and a wonderful child named Zoey to make it all brighter. The romance was nice, and the characters are well thought out as usual for Ms. Burton. However if you are expecting the normal erotic romance, this may not be the book for you. Yes the main characters come together for sex but this is book I would give a older teenage daughter to read as there isnt any explicit language or hot sex. I gave it 4 stars because of it's length, and possibly looking forward to what else could come out of the characters, such as the office gal Tori and Beau. Loved the story as usual!
(Spoiler Alert) Ten years ago the h caught the H in bed with her best friend. Because of this, the h leaves town and starts a singing career. After becoming a huge success as a country singer, she returns to her home town and comes face to face with the H and his daughter. They greet each other and act as though they were good friend separated by distance and time, not a huge betrayal. As a reader you rationalize that the child was there and so were other people so maybe that was why the lack of emotion but this same lack of anger continues throughout the book. When they meet again, the H informs the h that he had actually ended up marrying the OW but she died a few years back. The h then cries about what an awful friend she was for not being there for her best friend and how sorry she was that she was dead and unable to apologize to her for all the hurtful things that she had said to her. WHAT?!!! So...the best friend sleeps with the H and the h is apologizing?
The story continues pretty much with the same tone. IMO, the H did nothing to win the h back or to build trust again, it just happens as though it was a given the h will take the H back. The reconciliation was too easy and the H was completely unimpressive. All his actions spoke of a man with little passion or action. For example, the h sees him in bed with her best friend but he won't go after her because he believes she should go. He thought that the OW might have been lying about the paternity of the baby after they had sex but he marries her anyway. The OW had a miscarriage, the reason he married her, but he stays married. This H sucks!
Worse of all, the entire story they kept talking about the OW as though she was not a huge source of betrayal among them. Things like "your house is beautiful, she must have really loved it" and while skating mentioning how the OW went skating with the daughter all the time or what a wonderful mother the OW was.
The comment that the h said to the H mom towards the end of the book pretty much sums up the book "I should have stayed and fought for him." Really? Because in my book I would fight to get rid of a man who would sleep with my best friend, made no effort to make amends and then complained about how hard HIS life was because everyone knew he cheated on her. I have read brilliantly written stories about reconciliations before; this one is simply not one of them.
3.5 stars -- Cute little read. Reminded me of a Harlequin book, maybe a Superromance? I know they're unrealistic, but I enjoy the famous person loves normal person books, and the unfinished business from teenage past love stories. So this one fit that bill. Was there anything particularly remarkable and unique to this one? Probably not. But I'm not too fussy. I liked Ethan's family (except Wyatt), and Zoe wasn't too annoying as a kid. Ringing endorsement eh? Maybe I should have rounded down, but now I'm too lazy, and I like Christmas books so whatever...
ON REREAD rounded down. It just didn't capture me as much as the first time....
